It looks like El Nino will still be doing its thing on our weather patterns through the end of March. The newest January diagnostic discussion on the weather phenomenon, from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Climate Prediction Center (CPC), is out and shows El Nino strengthened during the month of December 2009.

Patti McGarvey The Lady Broncs cross country squad traveled to Bishop to run against the lady Broncos on Oct. 13, the weather was chilly and raining but they raced anyway.

NOAA released a study this week projecting United States winter weather for the coming winter season. Using forecast E Niño conditions, the study predicts temperature and precipitation trends for the mainland US and Hawaii.

Delaware County Emergency Management will be distributing to Delaware County Residents “NOAA Weather radios” regular price $69.00 will sell for $7 each. These radios have been purchased from Radio Shack, provided by a Hazard Mitigation Grant in connection with FEMA & Oklahoma Emergency Management.

Firefighters at Station Fire Prepare as Weather is Expected to Worsen (LAist)

As officials announced last night , the 250-square mile Station Fire remains at 93 percent contained and in light of predicted fire-friendly weather, they hope they do not lose control of a couple hot spots still being mopped up by crews. “The remaining work is extremely difficult due to steep and rugged terrain,” a Forest Service statement read.
