March 4 (Bloomberg) — A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck Taiwan’s southern county of Kaohsiung at 8:18 a.m. local time, the island’s Central Weather Bureau said on its Web site. There were no immediate reports of damage.

NEW ORLEANS — Entergy is reporting outages affecting several thousand customers Monday evening in New Orleans. The outages left 3000 customers on the East Bank without power and 5000 on the West Bank.
